Chalazion
Chalazion, also known as meibomian gland lipogranuloma, is a cyst in the eyelid caused by the inflammation of the obstruction of the meibomian gland, located near the eyelashes and usually on the upper eyelid.
A chalazion is different from a stye as it is not painful. It tends to be larger and often accompanied by phlogosis (heat issued by inflammation). A chalazion eventually disappears after a few months, but in many cases, medical treatment is required which usually involves an incision and warm compresses.
