Argon Laser Procedure
The argon laser is a light beam that is sent through a tube containing argon gas that is used in several retina diseases. Among the most frequently used applications are for retina tears in which the objective forms a scar around the tear, retinal vascular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, and venous blockages of exudative origin.
The argon laser is an important technique for sight preservation in patients with ocular deficiencies. It also slows and/or stops the growth of abnormal blood vessels as well as reducing the presence of bleeding inside the eye.
This is a very effective treatment during the early years of the disease, hence the importance of a visit to your ophthalmologist.
