Cornea Transplant
The cornea is the transparent layer in the front side of the eye. A cornea transplant is the surgical procedure to replace the opaque cornea with a donor’s transparent tissue. The donated cornea is processed and analyzed in a local eye bank to verify its safety during the surgery.
This is one of the most common transplants performed as well as one of the most successful. Note, that this procedure does not require hospitalization. Patients shall be discharged the same day of the surgery.
