Aspheric Lens
This lens is designed to provide distance in the patient’s vision, but it is quite possible the patient will be required to use glasses to see closely, to read and for computer use.
Multifocal Lens
This type of lens has proven, through studies, that 4 out of 5 patients have reported never needing to use glasses for any activity.
Toric Lens
This type of lens is recommended for patients with cataract and astigmatism, which is a curvature in the surface of the cornea that distorts or blurs vision. The toric lens replaces the natural lens after surgery and corrects astigmatism.
Multifocal Toric Lens
The new ReSTOR® lens provides the efficiency and predictability of the toric lens as well as performance at all length of sight. Both technologies are merged into the new Toric ReSTOR® which provides quality vision at all lengths. Demographic studies have shown that 35% of the population over 65 years old have moderated or severe astigmatism. This may be corrected by this multifocal lens, allowing people to live most of the time without needing glasses for reading, working on the computer or driving. This option increases patient freedom as well as quality of life.
